Watching the people that I love that are affected by their mental health breaks me and I know there is no one right way to help them, but by being by their side and watching them take on hobbies or passions that they love, including dance or music, puts a smile back on my face. They are the ones that taught me how to handle my own stresses and roadblocks in my life by showing me what truly makes me the happiest and purest, and that will always be through dance.

Kirandeep joins in conversation with Sahaj Kohli, creator of Brown Girl Therapy to discuss the FAQs surrounding the topic of therapy, coping with the COVID-19 Pandemic ‘Stay at Home’ orders, and the actualities of being a first-generation child of an immigrant and minority.

ABOUT

With our MannMukti podcast series, we aim to connect our listeners with mental health professionals as well as those with lived experiences of mental illness. Our podcasts are often conducted in an interview format, with one or more members of the MannMukti team asking questions of a guest. Each episode features a different guest who can speak to us about a unique topic in South Asian mental health, but the constant theme throughout each podcast is a conversation about stigma.

If you’re interested in learning more about any of the episodes or guests or taking part in a future interview, please feel free to reach out to us at info@mannmukti.org.
